They took what was a boring lawn with a sloping bed where nothing much was growing and created a beautiful private "bowl" with retaining walls and varied plantings of trees, shrubs and ground cover of interesting textures and contrasts. LOVE my back garden now! They gave me an accurate budget and timetable up front and pretty much stuck to it - much to my husband's delight. They are not pushy about their services which I truly appreciate and which is why I continue to use them for maintenance, new plantings etc. Would highly recommend them!”

“We first worked with Jim and Colin in 2007 when a Blade of Grass transformed our front yard from a barren wasteland of wood chips to a stunningly gorgeous garden. In late 2012, we embarked on a major project to rebuild our backyard and add a pool and patio. “We could not be happier with the work performed by Tom Wilhelm and the rest of the team at a Blade of Grass. We purchased a 20 year old home which had not been updated in years. The yard was dated and filled with overgrown vegetation. Tom surveyed the yard and redesigned the space. When designing the space Tom considered every detail including privacy concerns, colors, the reuse of existing plants, our likes and dislikes, cost, placement and size of walkways and stairs, shape of pool deck and where snow would be plowed in the winter. The result is a yard we enjoy all year-round. Since its design, the maintenance team at a Blade of Grass has maintained the yard's beauty. The maintenance team does a fantastic job. “Joanna and her team were great to work with! The plantings around our house and yard were seriously overgrown and boring. Joanna designed a beautiful plan for the entire lot. I wasn't able to afford the whole project at once, so she constructively phased the plan and helped me prioritize what I could afford this year. Joanna had an encyclopedic knowledge of every plant we looked at. The installation crew led by Joel was also terrific. In fact, despite oppressive heat, they removed some old stones in the way and used them to repair and extend a fallen wall - a really thoughtful touch that went above and beyond the plan. Joanna's confidence and enthusiasm made the whole process a joy. With her encouragement I also started a small vegetable garden outside of her plan and she was very helpful with pointing me toward supplies and information I needed.”
